Magi Eoa promunt munera. Pokłon Magów w poezji Prudencjusza

Abstract
In this article I analyse the scenes of the Adoration of the Magi included in three pieces written by the late antiquity Roman Prudentius: 12th hymn of Cathemerinon, poem Apotheosis and 27th epigram of Dittochaeon. The poet, who is considered to be the greatest Christian poet of antiquity, united in his poetry classical tradition and faith in Christ. Prudentius presents the Evangelical story of the Magi of the East (Matthew 2, 1–12) using forms of expression taken from earlier (especially Horatian) poetry. Although historical Magi was connected with the Iranian world, in Prudentius poetry they are the representants of the East who come to worship Christ.
